Any ideas for a fairytale/disney princess wedding?
Fall 2012, money is not an issue :) throw any ideas at me please! All will be appreciated. And our colors are hot pink and light yellow
- sounds amazing ! i was at a sweet 16 with this theme and they had all the guests dress in different disney princess dresses (one wore a mirmaid dress, one in bells yellow dress etc.) and than she came out in one looking just like cinderellas ball dress and she looked phenominal. also their was a soda fountain ( you can do wine) and the little mirmaid and flounder were floating in it.
- Pink flower petals would do. Flowers for decoration?
This wedding danced their way in their wedding! That's so cool! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8DCt3Lmi28
Do something like that.
- Well, if money is no object and you want a true Disney princess wedding, then you should consider getting married at Disney World!
- The aisle:
Yellow bridesmaids dresses and they can carry pink flowers
or would you prefer pink dresses with yellow flowers?
For the reception though I would do pastel yellow table linen and pink flowers...don't want it too bright
Would you dare wear a pink dress?
Or something like but hang some crystals strands from a lot of fairytale stories wind up in the woods. Use a brighter pink for you of course
If the main color in this was pink instead of purple:
Something like this for ring pillow:
some fairy flower girls:
Wedding cake maybe they could add in a few yellow flowers with it:
You need to make your grand entrance in a horse drawn carriage
- ugh really? i'm sorry but thats a theme for a little girls birthday party, not a wedding.
- I had a Disney Princess themed wedding too - it's a fantastic theme!! Money was also not an object for us, but we couldn't get married in Florida due to ill family members who couldn't travel. So here's some ideas from what we did, and I hope it helps!
-Order Cinderella's White Chocolate Castle topper for your cake. They will ship it to you overnight, in a cooler. It's extremely expensive to ship, but worth it. Most good cake designers will be able to put it on top of your cake, and design something around it. Here's the site you can order it from, and underneath is a link to my wedding cake picture to give you an idea:
Have pixie dusted personalized napkins made for your wedding. Disney allows you to pick from lots of symbols - castles, glass slippers, carriages and more. We chose the carriage. They will match your wedding colors for you, and they turn out really cute!
Do a Cinderella program, or Mickey head fan. I did the Mickey fan, as I had an outdoor summer wedding. However, the Mickey fans are only done for weddings that are at Disney Resorts, or for brides who honeymoon at Disney. I honeymooned at Disney, so they did the fan for us. However, the Cinderella fans you can definitely get.

Get customized Disney invitations. They can seriously do just about anything you ask for. They designed ours w/the images we wanted, the font we wanted, and made it with glitter ink. They turned out absolutely stunning! They are a small fortune, but truly worth it for a Princess wedding.

Buy a Disney Princess wedding dress. Disney has their own line of wedding dresses. They were not available yet when I was married, but I've always been envious of brides who have gotten to wear them. You can pick your favorite Princess & pick one of the gowns inspired by her. They are available exclusively at Alfred Angelo stores, which I believe are all over the country.
Name your tables after characters or Disney inspired things, and use your favorite character or Princess symbol to put on each name card. We called our sweetheart table "The Happiest Place on Earth", and gave each table a character name. Then we used Tink as our name card character. We actually made all these ourselves on our computer. Or you can get place cards, as well as favor cards, done with Disney. You can also get Disney Favors. They have all kinds of cute chocolate Disney favors.
Have an ice sculpture made, as something Princess-y. I chose a glass slipper that you could pour a martini down, and into the glass. I also had a signature wedding drink made, which matched our wedding color, and called it a Tinkertini.
Enter & exit your wedding by horse & carriage, just like Cinderella. This works the best I think with an outdoor wedding so people can see it. I am from PA, so I just did a search for horse & carriage companies in the area, and found one. I bet every area has some different places. I entered w/my dad, and then me & my new husband exited the ceremony in the carriage.
I hope my wedding ideas helped! It really is the perfect theme for a wedding. Anything you do with Impressions, which is supported by Disney, will turn out great. My meeting with the Impressions designer was actually at the Grand Floridian wedding pavilion in Disney World. It's so much fun to travel there to meet up & plan your wedding! But you don't have to go there, it's just a great way to celebrate. In fact, if you do plan to go there, get your engagement pictures done at the resort. It'll kill two birds with one stone. =-)
Good luck, and congrats!
