  5. Am I going overboard with our theme?

We are doing a country/rustic theme with our outdoor wedding. Anyways, I kinda feel like i'm going overboard with our theme, even though i hoping i'm not. I'm wearing cowboy/girl boots with turqouse designs on them for my something blue. I also have a aqua/chocolate brown garter set with a little cowboy boot charm. our flowers are going to be daisys and sunflowers with wheat thrown in The girls are having country style sundresses with either boots or black flats the guys are wearing cream colored suits with either casual style dress shoes( if there is such a thing) or cowboy boots and possibly a hat for the pictures. the cake is going to be white buttercream with wheat and daisys... The guest book is going to be a huge letter "C" with pale yellow ribbon and daisys as accents. the decor is mainly going to be nice lighting seeing as how its an evening wedding. Am I going overboard or is it just me?

  6. Barn rental in NJ for my Wedding?

I have been searching and searching for a barn for my wedding of Spring 2014. We're having a rustic/country themed wedding. I have gone to Normandy Farms and a few others in PA. I have looked into Perona Farms, and Cross Keys Inn up in North Jersey. The only problem I have is travel. Both mine and my fiance's side has relatives we want at our wedding, but it is hard for them to travel far. I am really wanting a barn that I can rent out and supply my own catering, music, cake, decor, etc. I'm trying to keep this as low budget as possible. We're thinking we will be having about 120 guests. If anyone knows of a private residance that would be willing to rent out their barn for us in the south jersey area, you would be a LIFE SAVER!! Please let me know of any type of location I may not know about! I'm looking for all the help I can get!! Thank you!!!

  7. Does this sound alright?

Alright,so my fiancee and I are getting married in 3 months. It is going to be a smaller wedding,as we are both young and not very well off financially. We both agreed to do something small and not very fancy, and then renew our vows on our five or ten year anniversary (whenever we can afford it) I got a cheap, but very pretty dress. He's just wearing a nice suit and tie. I'm having a maid of honor and he is having a best man. His little cousin is going to be a flower girl, and his other little cousin is going to be ring bearer. Our pastor, whom we have known since we were toddlers is officiating. It is going to be in the hay field behind my fiancees parent's house. Half of the field is for the ceremony and half for the reception. Now, we don't want to spend a ton of money on the food,so we were thinking about maybe doing a potluck. Would that be appropriate? He has a big family, and they are super close. Closer than any family I have ever seen. I was hoping we could provide the main dish (chicken, steak and pork chops) and then our families could bring side dishes and desserts. We will be having a small wedding cake. Mainly just something we can cut and eat as a couple. There will be no alcohol,as we are too young to drink and my parents,as well as his, are against it. I was thinking we could gather the family ahead of time and figure out a dish or two everyone could bring to pass. There will be approximately 50 people attending. Side dish and dessert suggestions would be very nice,as well as makeup suggestions please. I cannot afford a professional to apply my makeup or do my hair There will be no DJ,just an iPod and portable speakers. We will be having a "dance". We will do the traditional dances, and then of course everyone is welcome to dance the rest of the evening. Since it will be dark, I'm thinking that maybe we can have a fire and s'mores for the kids. He has a lot of little cousins (all under 11) and I have tons of little cousins and two nieces. Wildflowers should be in full bloom,so I'm thinking we can decorate with those. Lots of candles. I'm still trying to figure out favors and dishes and silver. Tables are being donated as well as chairs and benches. His mom is a photographer,so she's taking the pictures and one of our friends is videotaping the whole thing for us. I'm thinking we can play some yard games (bean bag toss and such) I want to wear a simple sundress and cowboy boots for the reception and dance. I'm still trying to figure out how to make an entrance and exit :) they have horses,so that adds to the c

  8. Any suggestions on decor...?

I am planning a May or September wedding for next year, and am going to try to get an old barn as my venue...trying to go for the "classy rustic country-ish" vibe. I already know my colors and I am currently collecting hundreds of mason jars of all sizes for full table centerpieces (with votives in the middle) (look at this page for my idea inspiration about a lil over half way down) http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/mason-jar-obsession-ideasdecor-pic-heavy ...but what else should I do? I want classy but country-ish. No redneck/hick/trashy ideas please! I need all of your super-creative brains for picking purposes!!

  10. Ideas for decor for a wedding in late August. ?

Our wedding is on the patio (I mean very large overlooking the lake) patio at a country club and our reception will be in a private clubhouse. We are looking at the end of August for this. Do you think using chocolate brown, champagne and gold would be nice colors. I know that they have been overdone but the feel of the country club is a very upscale rustic lodge and I think those colors would pull in wonderfully, plus my dress is a light gold color. My MB's actually like the idea, they say if they have to wear black or pink one more time they will scream. Other than that send me your ideas, pics are always great of what you think is fabulous. I defiantly want fabulous. Thanks.
